Recap Terms of Use
Effective November 4, 2026
Recap is a macOS screen recorder made by Sébastien Therriault. These terms apply when you use it. By using Recap, you agree to them.
YouTube
Recap uses YouTube API Services to upload your videos to your own YouTube channel and to manage their privacy, thumbnails and playlists. By using Recap's YouTube features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Recap only acts on the YouTube channel you sign in with, and only on videos you choose to upload. You can remove its access at any time in Recap's Settings or on Google's security settings page.
Your content
Your recordings are yours. You are responsible for what you record and upload, including having the right to share anything that appears on your screen or in your audio, and for following YouTube's rules for what you post.
Your privacy
How Recap handles your data is explained in the Recap Privacy Policy. In short: your recordings stay on your Mac until you press Upload, and there is no Recap server.
No warranty
Recap is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Keep copies of recordings that matter to you. To the extent the law allows, Sébastien Therriault is not liable for lost recordings or other damages from using Recap.
Changes
If these terms change, this page will be updated and the effective date above will change.
